This privacy statement explains how the uControl Notifications app (the “app”) for Microsoft Teams, provided by TekWurx Software Ltd (“TekWurx”, “we”, “us”), handles information. It applies specifically to the uControl Notifications Teams app and its bot, and supplements the general TekWurx Privacy Policy.

What the App Does

uControl Notifications delivers IT asset-intelligence alerts from your organisation’s own uControl Insight platform into Microsoft Teams as Adaptive Cards, and lets you acknowledge or assign those alerts from within Teams. The app is a companion to uControl Insight; the alert content itself originates from, and is owned by, your own uControl Insight instance.

Information the App Collects and Uses

To deliver alerts to the chats and channels you choose, the app stores only what is needed to operate:

• Microsoft Teams conversation reference – the technical identifiers for the chat, group chat or channel you install the app to (such as tenant, team, channel/chat and service URL identifiers). This is required so the app can post alerts back to the exact conversation you paired.
• Pairing information – the link between a Teams conversation and your uControl organisation, established when you run the connect command with the pairing code shown in your uControl Insight admin console, plus an identifier for the uControl Insight instance the conversation is paired with.
• Commands you send to the bot – for example connect, disconnect, status, test-alert and help, which the app processes to operate its features.

Information the App Does Not Collect

• The app does not read your general Teams messages, files or channel content. It only processes messages that are addressed to it (its own commands listed above).
• The app does not collect names, email addresses, contact lists or message content beyond the bot commands described above, and does not use your data for advertising.

How Information Is Protected and Where It Is Held

• Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and held in an access-controlled datastore; sensitive credentials (such as your organisation’s alert key) are encrypted.
• The app’s service is hosted in Amazon Web Services in the United Kingdom / EU region (eu-west-2, London).

Data Isolation Between Organisations

Alerts are delivered only to the conversations your organisation has explicitly paired, and are never shared across organisations or Microsoft 365 tenants. Each organisation’s alerts are scoped to that organisation’s own pairing.

Retention and Your Controls

• Pairing and conversation-reference data is retained only while a conversation remains paired. Sending disconnect in a conversation stops alert delivery and removes that conversation’s pairing. Removing the app from a chat or channel removes its conversation reference.
• Conversations that are never paired are automatically cleaned up.

Sharing

We do not sell your information and do not share it with third parties, except with the Microsoft Teams / Bot Framework service to the extent necessary to deliver messages to the conversations you have paired, and as required by law.
